Flourishing Psychology

Flourishing has been defined as:

“the ability of a living organism to grow or develop in a healthy or vigorous way, especially as the result of a particularly congenial environment”

“to be successful”

“developing quickly”

“to grow or develop quickly”

You will see a common theme around growth and success that happens quickly.

Who doesn’t want that?

I think the reference to a “congenial environment” is particularly empowering as it suggests that if we can change our environment to make it more favourable in some way, then we can access a state of flourishing. I take this as meaning your physical, external environment and also your internal, mental environment. For me, this is inspiring, it’s about everyone from children to adults having the opportunities to commit to making changes and engaging in thought and activities that allow them to become the best version of themselves. As an Educational Psychologist, there could be no greater honour than being able to facilitate this and here at Flying Colours, that’s what we’re all about.

With our blog, we aim to inform and inspire you…
